1. Once upon a time, there was a cat named Scrub who was viewed as an outcast within her family for wanting to be a swimmer.

2. Everyday, she'd sneak out before sunrise to watch local swim meets in hopes of learning some tricks.

3. Until one day, she was caught by a young girl on the sidelines who mistook her for a pro swimmer identical to Scrub.

4. Because of that, the young girl (Amy) told stories of the legendary feline swimmer that motivated Scrub even more as they spent time together.

5. Because of that, Scrub's family eventually heard the stories and finally told Scrub that the legend was her grandmother.

6. Because of that, Scrub runs away with Amy in hopes of finding her grandma to learn about why their ancestry was kept secret.

7. Because of that, Scrub finds that her grandmother felt that she wasn't taken seriously as a cat, and being among her own community held her back.

8. Because of that, Scrub is ready to quit swimming entirely in fear of becoming like her grandmother.

9. Because of that, Scrub's mom reveals that she made the same mistake and has to convince Scrub not to abandon her dream.

10. Until finally, Scrub's mom shows support for her daughter's dreams and teaches her to always be true to herself.

11. The moral of the story is: To always be true to yourself and who you are. When you find confidence in doing so, you can always succeed.

For my Week 8 submission, I've entered my story reel. I struggled a bit these past few weeks juggling summer activities such as my other classes and jobs but I also changed the events of my story quite a bit until I was satisfied. My story spine ended up a bit longer due to my habit of elaboration so I shortened it to the best of my ability. I'm excited to keep working on this project past this point and this opportunity has been such an amazing experience for someone who has had no prior experience similar to this. I'm honored to have been a part of this all!
